In the Meantime

These poems have been described as vignettes of stillness. They are lyrical, articulate reflections of life’s passages but more – the author has paused to assess where he is in place and time. These collections of words are poetry, for sure, but are careful observations of our inner world while sharing the beauty and serendipity of the outer world. This 72-page book has two themes: Departures and Arrivals.

Author Derek Evans trained as an ethicist and was mentored in the 1970s and 1980s by Paolo Friere and Kim Dae-Jung. He worked professionally for more than 40 years as a human rights investigator and advocate, and has served as a peace negotiator in civil conflicts in all world region.
